Your ASU Professional Indemnity Insurance protects you in civil claims made against you whilst performing your work.
We hope you never need it, but your Union is here to support you if any legal claims are made against you.
Why do we need this?
ASU members working in social and community services are highly-skilled workers, supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. But sometimes mistakes can happen.
By being a member of your the ASU, you are protected against claims of alleged negligence or breach of duty arising from an act, error or omission in the performance of your duties.
Who is covered under ASU policy?
The policy covers financial members of the Australian Services Union providing social and community services, including but not limited to Youth and social worker services; Disability support services; and Community development services.
This includes members operating as sole traders under the NDIS so long as you meet a few additional conditions.
What is covered under ASU policy?
The ASU's Professional Indemnity Insurance provides comprehensive cover up to $5 million in any one claim during the insurance period.
