A Message from Angus McFarland

A Message from Angus McFarland

Hello,

I am excited to be your new Secretary of the Australian Services Union.

Two weeks ago, Natalie Lang resigned from the ASU to take a new role at the ACTU, the peak body for unions, and I was unanimously endorsed by our rank-and-file Executive delegates to replace her as Secretary.

It is a great honour to lead a union of active, progressive members like you.

On my first day as Secretary, I want to hear from you about your priorities for our union. Please tell me what you think and what is important to you in this confidential survey. Your answers will help set our ASU priorities and drive our agenda for the next 12 months and beyond.

Congratulations: New Leadership Team

Congratulations: New Leadership Team

Congratulations to our new leadership team, ASU Secretary Angus McFarland and Deputy Secretary Judith Wright!

Angus joined the ASU as an Organiser in 2010 and has been Assistant Secretary since 2015, leading our work in the community and disability sectors.

Judith Wright will continue her fantastic work as Deputy Secretary, a role she has excelled in for the past 8 years.

Angus and Judith will launch an all-member Survey to hear directly from ASU members about your priorities for the next 12 months.

Farewell Natalie Lang

Farewell Natalie Lang

After eight incredible years in this role, I will be standing down as Secretary. My last day at the ASU will be Friday 16 September.

Working for you and all our ASU members has been a pleasure and an honour; leaving the ASU is truly the hardest decision that I have had to make in my working life.
