Labor backs best NDIS

Today the Labor Party announced its policy for a better NDIS.

ASU members have been campaigning for years for a better NDIS - one where there are more secure jobs, portable entitlements, better training and support for advocacy in the NDIS.

Today Labor has delivered for ASU members.

Today Labor announced its policy for a better NDIS that includes:

  • All workers delivering NDIS supports will be covered by the SCHADS Award and will get access to Equal Pay rates. Labor will end the misclassification of workers.
  • Fixing NDIS pricing so that it supports more permanent jobs, and minimises insecure work by introducing portable entitlements for NDIS workers.
  • Supporting better training for NDIS workers that is cumulative and portable and provides all workers with ongoing accredited training to build careers and specialisations in the NDIS.
  • More funding for disability advocacy

ASU members from Western Sydney, the Hunter and the Illawarra attended the announcement in Melbourne.

Under Scott Morrison the NDIS has been under attack and NDIS plans have been cut.

This announcement from Labor today is about a better NDIS. Congratulations to all members who have been part of our campaign for a better NDIS.

To make this plan a reality, we must change the Government on May 21.
